We offer climbing instruction on both indoor man-made walls as well as outside on real rock. Take a look at the various types of courses we run below, or get in touch to discuss your exact requirements.

Beginners Intensive Course

This course is designed to give you the knowledge to climb safely at any climbing centre (subject to the centres own terms & conditions). Teaching good warm up techniques, the knots required, an understanding of the equipment used and basic methods to safe guard you and your partner. Types of holds and their names, movement technique and good communication will all be covered.

Designed as an intensive introduction to roped climbing, it is run over 2 days (generally over a weekend) and each session lasting 3 hours.

Day 1, starting with a good warm up and then focusing on harnesses, knots and basic movement skills and climbing under full supervision. Covering any safety issues that can arise to ensure you and your climbing partners are safe.

Day 2, starts as day 1 with a warm up then straight into a refresh of knots and rope techniques. The rest of the session is then rotating between climbing and controlling the rope, so by the end you feel confident to climb without instruction.

£60 per person, with reductions available for group bookings. Minimum 2 persons, maximum 8.

Beginners 6 Week Course

This course is designed to give you the knowledge to climb safely at any climbing centre (subject to the centres own terms & conditions). Teaching good warm up techniques, the knots required, an understanding of the equipment used and basic methods to safe guard you and your partner. Types of holds and their names, movement technique and good communication will all be covered.

On top of the intensive course, this course will also introduce bouldering, a different branch of the climbing world. The course is designed as an introduction to climbing and bouldering, is run over 6 weeks and each session lasts 90 minutes.

Climbing under supervision you will learn all you need to know to climb and boulder safely. Each weeks session starts with a good warm up then focusses on a range of topics, including harnesses, knots, rope techniques, basic movement skills and moving onto more advanced techniques as the course progresses. Covering any safety issues that can arise to ensure you and your climbing partners are safe. Each session will end with 15 minutes bouldering.

£100 per person, with reductions available for group bookings. Minimum 2 persons, maximum 8.

Lead Climbing Course

This course is designed to give you the knowledge to lead climb safely at any climbing centre (subject to the centres own terms & conditions). Covering the safety issues that come with lead climbing the course will teach safe clipping techniques, lead belaying, fall potential and how to fall safely.

Designed as a 4 hour session, starting with a warm up, we then get straight into bottom rope climbing; this is to assess your climbing and belaying technique. We will then move onto lead belaying, this will involve paying out and taking in the rope using various belay devices to show how each can affect rope management. Followed by clipping and movement, two activities that roll into each other. Traversing the wall near to the ground, navigating obstacles and passing through them mimicking the movement and position you would find yourself in, learning to clip in with both hands effectively.

Next it’s your turn, taking on your first lead or lead belay you will use all your newly acquired skills and by the end of the session be climbing safely without instruction.

£50 per person. Minimum 2 persons, maximum 4.

The refresher course is aimed at those with previous experience, who wish to brush up on technique and skills. Whether you have been out of climbing for a while or just want to make sure your skills are as sharp as possible before heading outside.
